The Core Mission of ACEMA:
Safety, Preparedness, Resilience
Androscoggin County Emergency Management Agency (ACEMA) is committed to fostering strong partnerships with government agencies, non-profit organizations, the private sector, and the public to create a unified and effective emergency management system.
Effective emergency management is crucial for the safety and stability of the Androscoggin community. ACEMA provides essential leadership, coordinating the community's efforts to prepare for, withstand, and recover from all types of emergencies and disasters.
Our strategic approach encompasses the four key phases:
Mitigation: Proactively reducing vulnerability and minimizing the potential impact of future hazards.
Preparedness: Building readiness through planning, training, and public education to ensure an effective response.
Response: Coordinating immediate, life-saving actions and resource deployment during an emergency.
Recovery: Facilitating the restoration of community functions and infrastructure, fostering long-term resilience.
Through collaboration and dedicated planning, ACEMA works continuously to protect our citizens, property, and environment, ensuring the Androscoggin community is prepared to face any challenge.
